June 6 - Begins the weekly summer event sponsored cooperatively with the local Jackson County Ministerial Association, WWW or Worship, Word and Watermelon. Each Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. the bells of the Delafield Church ring, to call one and all to an ecumenical church service followed by fellowship and watermelon. WWW will also be held on June 13, 20 and 27.
June 16 – Wednesday - All “seniors” are invited to be guests of the Fort from 1:00 p.m., until? Enjoy refreshments & bingo, take a tour if you wish or just visit.
June 27 – Sunday at 1 pm “Jam Session” Talented musicians come together to provide entertainment for both, young and old. Bring your musical instrument and/or your voice and share in the fun! Bring your lawn chair & enjoy the day!
July - Open for Tours Daily (No WWW service on July 4th)
July 11, 18 and 25 - Participate in WWW, beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Delafield Church at Fort Belmont Park site. Fellowship & watermelon to follow.
July 17 – See us in the annual Race Days parade in downtown Jackson. Check out other events during the weekend including Rhythm of the River, music festival.
July 18 – Come celebrate the dedication of the Fort's tower! The tower was originally built by Buren & Evelyn Watland back in 1958. It is the tower that many of us remember from younger days, on family vacations or on school field trips. Saved from demolition, the tower has been moved & reconstructed for public use. That evening at 7:00 pm, join us for WWW services at the 1902 Delafield Church.
August - Open for Tours Daily (No WWW service held on August 1st)
August 8, 15 and 22 - Participate in WWW, beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Delafield Church at the Fort Belmont Park site. Join in fellowship and watermelon.
August 18 – Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. is Senior Day. Be our guest for bingo, refreshments and visiting at the Fort Belmont museum. Tours are also available.
September 11th and 12th
Gather with the buck skinners at the Annual Fort Belmont Rendezvous on the weekend after Labor Day to celebrate the lifestyle of years gone by. Primitive camping, cooking over an open fire, blacksmithing, demonstrations of pioneer living and other trades of the 1800’s will be on display to experience. Watch the Black Powder Rifle shoot on Saturday, take a horse-drawn wagon ride, or just enjoy the beautiful fall prairie flowers. Special entertainment will be on the schedule for the weekend. |
